Day 6 of 35 - we are aboard the Queen Mary to Norway


We had a nice train ride from London to Southampton. We boarded the Queen Mary 2. This is the port where the Titannic left for America. 

The ship is very nice. We carried our stuff to our room 6085. We had a quick lunch and now will explore the boat. 

The crowd is old. There are very few kids. The ship is more staid than other ships we traveled on. This was designed for Atlantic crossings although it does other types of trips. It had just sailed in from New York City. It is a long slow trip with no stops. Someone on that trip said it was pretty boring and lots of cold and fog. Since we just finished a hot humid month in Florida - we hope we like the change. 

The ship's internet is suspect. The service seems slow and expensive. I will have to wait until ports to post stuff.

This is our new to us - 2011 Chevy Roadtrek Four years ago we bought a Tesla car. We decided at that time to sell our camper because we thought we would just use the electric car and stay in hotels. Our 2025 Camping Trip to Key West

  Lower Key Medical Center - free place to sleep Henry Flagler built the train to the sea over 40 bridges Tuesday we got home from our maiden voyage in our 2011 Chevy Roadtrek with 55,000 miles on it. It was 1500 miles and we slept in the camper 6 nights - and stayed in a condo near Disney 2 nights. We were concerned because our camper furnace was not working before the trip started. The camper computer said we got 17 mpg and we were quite pleased with that. I never went over 65 mph - which explains the good mileage. We just bought the camper and it had on brand new Cooper Mastercraft Tires. I am a bit of a tire snob - but after 1500 miles of quiet and comfortable ride - I think I will stick with them for a time. Both Lulu and I approved the ride. We both drove too. We drove from Tallahassee to Disney the 1st night - stayed in a condo with the cousins - then drove to Miami Beach for nights 2 & 3.
