On Wednesday Lulu was done her work - she had a chance to tour with me. This is a neat museum - but what was most interesting to me was that it was moved. It is a modern museum - but a few years ago - the river flooded and the museum was under water. It seemed like poor planning. But they build a full foundation with basement next door - then lifted the building and slid it on top of the new foundation.
There is a large population of Czechs and Slovaks. I lived in Pennsylvania where many Czechs and Slovaks came to work in the coal mines. Czechs also were ice cutters. Before refrigerators - selling ice was a thriving business. Wood and Coal kept the houses warm - ice kept the food cool.
After the museum we enjoyed a nice lunch in the village. I had the best chicken ala king over fresh made biscuits. Then we were on the way to the Herbert Hoover Museum and Library.
